Continuous improvement in all aspects of our business is integral to our philosophy and that is why we frequently conduct training programs for our network members to expand their skillsets, and implement upgrades to our policies and practices ensuring alignment with the highest standards.
Over the last few years our supply chain has become truly global, having grown and developed in line with the NATO and growing number of national logistic support contracts we are performing. In parallel we have been considering how our CSR policy should be recast to take account of our worldwide footprint and the many different compliance regimes now encompassed. We have concluded that the central plank in our CSR policy should emphasise compliance throughout our supply chain with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the associated Guiding Principles for Business. Whilst this provides us with a firm, generally applicable CSR foundation, we are also committed to monitoring through our supply chain specific relevant local regulatory developments worldwide, such as those concerning Minimum Wages, Slavery and Child Labour. Accordingly we have taken steps to ensure that throughout our supply chain:
awareness of each of the Human Rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration and of the International Labour Organization’s Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work are periodically refreshed; and
any incidents and associated remedial measures are reported to GDL HQ so that the lessons to be learned can be disseminated.
